Rail and transportation

Stephenson Engineering has worked within the rail industry for many years, producing a variety of components from bridge bearings and shear plates to steam locomotive motion.

We have unique facilities capable of manufacturing complex rail components, including the refurbishment and CNC machining of bogies. Many of our customers have been with us for decades, thanks to the quality of our client service and our understanding of the complexity of rolling stock manufacture. We hold the rail welding accreditation to EN 15085 and are ideally equipped to supply the following products:

  • Underframes, floor structures and assemblies

  • Longitudinal members

  • Carriage internal steel structures

  • Bogie frames and components

  • Obstacle deflectors

  • Trackside equipment

  • Engine and traction mounting frames

We also have extensive experience manufacturing components for agricultural and commercial vehicles, excavating and trenching machines, including loader arms and chassis sub-assemblies.
